Been reading my mail from latest to earliest and have already thanked you and Derek for the clarification. But thanks again. I've seen your remarks about update-manager many times on the list for a straight Ubuntu gnome system so I think it will help new users to know that the Adept Package Manager is the equivalent for the straight Kubuntu KDE system. Actually, I have Ubuntu installed with Kubuntu-desktop added manually and have just about all the package managers in my kde4.1 K menu. Just saying that for the benefit of the new users; assuming they ever read this post.
Thanks to you and Derek, I know (K)ubuntu a little better.
