Well, I can't compare KDE4 to Vista - I don't intend to send more $$$ to 
Redmond. But I tried 8.04 with KDE4 and now 8.10. I think KDE4 in 8.10 
has improved compared to 8.04, but it isn't yet ready. OTOH, we aren't 
forced to upgrade to 8.10 because 8.04 will be supported one more year. 
Until then I expect KDE4 to be usable.
