*NO!* These lines aren't for */etc/resolv.conf* ! Don't put them in there.

resolv.conf is ONLY for hostname resolving. As such, it only contains
lines like :

*nameserver *aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
*domain *yourdomain.tld
*search *somedomains
*sortlist *ip/netmask-pairs

What NoOp is describing would be the file */etc/network/interfaces* ...
