Problem with firefox 3

Dear all
I have a strange problem with FF3. when run it the first time, all is OK.
Next, when I run it, I cannot nagivate (a message tells that you are not
online).
if I remove all .mozilla directory, then the same cycle is back (works on
the first running, next, it does not).
Could you help please.
