To be honest Pat, 53 gig sounds a like a weird number for a
hard-drive... certainly for a relatively modern laptop - you might
want to fire up GPartEd (or another partition editor of your choice)
and see if there are is any more disk currently unformatted and thus
ununsed - you might well find you have considerably more than 53 gig
of disk space.

Rejoice in your new found space.... I recommend filling it with porn and mp3's.
