Ubuntu Password Problem

Hi Mrcy?
I hope I'm not behaving like a young upstart by advising that you setup
your system for automatic logon when we get your password. Passwords are
easy things to forget. Also Ubuntu is a _community_ project, this list
is populated by Ubuntu users, _you_ are now part of our community:
welcome :)
When you installed Ubuntu, you were asked to type in personal
information including a password. As GNU/Linux is case-sensitive maybe
you're typing it in incorrectly?
If this doesn't work please follow these steps carefully:
1. print or copy these steps
2. Reboot
3. When the GRUB menu appears press the [esc] key
4. Highlight the correct Ubuntu option with the arrow keys
5. press the [e] key to edit
6. Highlight the line that begins with "kernel..."
7. Use your arrow keys to go to the very end of the line and
8. Type in: rw init=/bin/bash
9. Press the [Enter] key then [b] to boot
10. Your system will boot up into a password-less <superuser> shell (Be
very careful!)
--------- REPLACE <username> with your login name i.e. "mrcy"?
11. Type: passwd <username>
12. You will be prompted to type in a new UNIX password, remember
case-sensitivity!
13. Type: reboot
Hope that helps, enjoy your time with Free software!
James Collier
