Best way to share Thunderbird Profiles across multiple machines.

I have often wondered about sharing the profile across multiple 
machines. I wonder if this approach would allow me to send/receive all 
of my different email addresses. (i.e. jhubbard at school.edu, 
jhubbard at work.com, and ender8282 at yahoo.com).
Would I just setup fetchmail to fetch from each provider and then 'host' 
multiple mailboxes on my server?
