Thank you, sir, that's a good catch.  My own googling didn't uncover
it, at least in the first couple of pages of returns.  
Now I wonder why the removal when compiz/beryl (compiz fusion)
does /not/ give the identical functionality but the (at least very
similar) functionality still exists in the xscreensaver hack, Carousel.
No problem here, just curiosity.  Maybe this belongs on sounder.
