I'll never known wether I'm the only one to have a similar problem, as I got not a single reply... Anyway, I found the fix: - remove the virtualbox-ose package provided by the Ubuntu the repo - take the package from virtualbox.org ... and miraculously, the problem disappeared -- Pierre Frenkiel
