Well... Maybe they didn't lied, maybe they did... Maybe the device 
itself works with Linux but they do not offer support... Let's see... 
Ask Creative Labs if their SoundBlasters are supported under Linux. They 
will probably answer that they don't... Samething for most printers... 
They don't know Linux so they don't offer support for it... That doesn't 
mean it doesn't work...

In 1999, when I first tried Linux, I even had to recompile the kernel of 
my RedHat machine just to add support for my D-Link network card... It 
was working great, even if D-Link still states it's not supported by 
Linux...
