Under what ever OS the box was designed to work with, the operating
system 'writes' a stream of data to the usb port. That data is
interpreted by the box and turned into a signal that is output on the
boxes ports. If you can figure out what to write to the USB you should
be able to get it to work.
Did you use a program/driver under the other OS to talk to the box. If
so can you run the program under wine or install the driver with
ndiswrapper? Is there any Linux support for the box under the
manufactures website?
