You reply without reading the articles he lists?  This isn't about 
beating Windows in a school system due to cost.  The cost for a SLES 
based system will be fairly significant, not to mention the knowledge 
level needed to maintain a multi-user terminal based linux system.

This is less about cost of the system, than it is maintainability.  And 
that is always the big issue.  In my neck of the woods (Western NC) 
there is a dearth of decent linux people in the area.  In fact, I spend 
more time consulting than I do in my day job and I have more work than I 
can stand.

This seems to be the case with 'Administrator' level tech people. They 
can handle Windows, but linux is a foreign language to them.

As far as Terminal based systems go, this one seems no better or worse 
than others I"ve dealt with.  But, typically I've found running a 
multi-X based terminal server is the fastest and easiest way to get 
systems 'desktops' without a lot of Administration needed to make it 
keep running.
