Hardware recommendations

Hello All,

I am putting together a new machine to use with Linux exclusively.
Anyone have any recommendations regarding motherboards/processors/chipsets
to use, or not use ?
Anything I should look out for ?

There are so many choices and I assume that these days most distros are
compatible
with most of the hardware out there. I do know I'm going with an AMD based
machine.
