I don't have this card, nor any tvtuner card, but maybe the module needs 
to be loaded manually (I know I have to do that with the module for my 
webcam).

Try "sudo modprobe cx88-dvb" and then start tvtime.

If it works, you can add the module to the a config file (sorry, can't 
remember the name of the file right now, I'm not in front of my Ubuntu 
installation right now)...
