Video playing not smooth

Hello,

I'm experiencing the same kind of problem on two different ubuntu boxes. When playing video, I get something that looks like lines across the screen from time to time, instead of running smoothly. To me it looks like some pixels aren't updated when they should. 

I get this on all the videos I try to play. I'm mostly using vlc and XBMC on both boxes with the same problem.

I'm using a 64 bit system together with an Nvidia driver, version 169.12
