    It is one of those tricky topics where if you really need to turn off PING
you also don't need to know how to turn it off.  If you don't need to turn it
off (and also don't know how) chances are you don't need to do so and are
doing so to follow poor advice.  Better to let them know that turning off ping
does no good and actively harms.

    No worries, I know how that can be.  Though the best is to just go down,
trim what you don't need and interleave your replies accordingly.  :)
