Problems installing software and/or updates. Heron version 8.04

Just an idea, but here's two suggestions:

1. Open a terminal and type "sudo dpkg --configure -a"

2. Same terminal (or a different one...doesn't matter) "sudo apt-get - 
f install"

Please report any success/failure with any errors returned :)
