Gmail is quite something

Never had a problem with spam and Google, unlike Hotmail. Their spam filter is quite excellent, unfortunately it decides some glibberish mails from various Linux and Java mailing lists I subscribe to are spam - luckily not very often.

And Google doesn't make money from sending mail, they make money by selling our profile and showing us unobtrusive advertisements when using Google and Gmail. I am also a Yahoo Mail user and prefer Google Mail many times over since I'm sick of Yahoo's in-your-face-advertisements.
Once upon a time you couldn't read a couple of mails subsequently w/o getting a full screen ad - I've stopped using them for day to day so I hope they've learned their lesson from Google and stopped doing that.
