Console Client? Putty's not up to scratch..

Minicom has served me well for many years. It will, however, fail to
talk to some USB converters. I had trouble with a:

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port

If putty still doesn't scrub up, it would be handy to try another USB to
Serial converter.

Alternatively, there's ckermit. You have to build it from source, but
that takes only a moment. Yodel if it's of interest.
