printer dell 1815dn ethernet mfp: cups and ppd

In my mfp1815ps.ppd i see

*cupsVersion: 1.1
*cupsManualCopies: False

Maybe i can just downgrade to cups 1.1.some? Can you tell me how is supposed
to do that? ...i see a bug on cups arguing to downgrade throught a new
repository (some..archive) in sources.list, is that necessary?
