NVidia: internal/external display switching

Hello,

I have a use case which I want to make working.

I use external LCD display with my Lenovo Thinkpad T61p which has NVidia
Quadro FX570M chip in a dock in the office.
But when I go to home I want to suspend the laptop and resume at home
and of course use internal LCD.

But when I resume laptop I cannot see any picture on internal LCD,
because X still uses old configuration.

If I restart X server with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace then it will start using
internal LCD.

Is any way to switch display on the fly without killing X?

How to configure X in order achieve that?

Any hints are welcome.
