Device Manager on Ubuntu

Hello,

Does Ubuntu has tool similar to "Device Manager" on Vista, so that I can see
what devices are available on a given
machine running Ubuntu.

The problem came, when I am trying to make Wireless connection work on one
machine and I don't know if it has
inbuilt wireless facility( Intel DG31PR ). Some of the laptops such as HP
pavilion comes with wireless facility and
I am not sure whether I will need an external wireless adaptor on Intel
DG31PR motherboard.
