no HDMI output on TV

Sorry, I can not help you much other than saying I had the exact same 
problem.  I love Linux and all, but it, sadly, looks like Ubuntu is not 
ready to be used through a HDMI port at this time.

I tried using it on my 32 inch TV which is also a computer monitor and 
it did not work!  I tried using the HDMI output on my Inspiron 1525 and 
it did only not work, but it screwed up my screen so bad I was forced to 
do a hard reboot of the system.  Thank God the computer went back to 
normal after the re-boot.

It looks like it should work as all the controls are there, but it does not.
