Hi,

I have a box with 2 hard drives, a 400G PATA and a 250G SATA. The recent
upgrade to 8.10 made a new install on the 250 that works fine but made the
400 disappear. Below is posted the last part of the dmesg file. I take it
that the drive needs a filesystem check,is that right?

[ 422.197183] attempt to access beyond end of device
[ 422.197203] sda2: rw=0, want=4, limit=2
[ 422.197212] EXT3-fs: unable to read superblock
[ 542.779742] kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
[ 542.779765] EXT3-fs warning: checktime reached, running e2fsck is
recommended
[ 542.780018] EXT3 FS on sda1, internal journal
[ 542.780028] EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
[ 723.283816] attempt to access beyond end of device
[ 723.283840] sda2: rw=0, want=4, limit=2
[ 723.283849] EXT3-fs: unable to read superblock
[ 815.194637] attempt to access beyond end of device
[ 815.194656] sda2: rw=0, want=4, limit=2
[ 815.194664] EXT2-fs: unable to read superblock

Any and all ideas welcome.

Dave
