Do I need to worry about viruses and defragmentation?

Filesystem integrity check.

You cannot be infected by so-called drive-by downloads, but if you run
SSH or other open services then make sure that it is properly
configured. Firefox itself can be compromised by an add-on, so don't
install Firefox addons or other programs (or repos) if you do not
trust them. Note that all browsers are subject to XXS and other
browser-based attacks.
