When I asked, the answer was that they only get attention if the are
filed in launchpad as bug reports.
Apparently the automatic bug
reporting address is the user_list; if the reporter does not have a
launchpad account, it doesn't bounce. It doesn't get seen by the
developers, either, but at least it did not bounce.
