You might have better luck with the googleearth-4.3 package in the
medibuntu repository. I had best luck running googleearth on Hardy
installing from that repository.

You also need 32 bit compatible libraries installed (package
ia32-libs) and a 32bit component for your video driver's glx support
userland modules, for instance nvidia-glx if you are running with
nVidia video hardware.

That is odd. I just did a distribution upgrade to intrepid over the
weekend, and I don't get those errors. Furthermore, those libaries, or
at least that one, belong to the gvfs package, and on my machine are
64 bit.
