Hi Doug,

If you aren't more concerned about syncing the files than just
figuring out how many times you made duplicates, then I suggest you
look into the program called rsync.  You can run it with the -"av"
flags  (see doc link below) both ways between computers and ensure you
have all the latest files in both places.  It's very cool.
