Fwd: problems with VLC and Totem playing image on external monitor

Thanks- I'll try 'xrandr --output "yourInternalMonitor" a try.  Bur first,
do I type your internal monitor or the name of it- and if the latter, I have
no idea what name to use.

sudo displayconfig yielded 'command not found.'  (ubuntu 8.4)
