Enabling my Hp pavilion dv6451us laptop wireless card

Hi.

I am a new Linux user who using the ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron version on my hp
pavilion dv6451us laptop. My problem is that i can't connect to the internet
using my wireless card by using the network settings tool. I believe that my
wireless card is a broadcom corporation BCM4312 802.11a/b/g (rev02) because
that is what the hardware testing software in ubuntu tells me that this
device is my network controller(s).  I have also confirm what the hardware
testing software have said by using the lspci command. I got the following
results:

as you can imagine, I'm using my ethernet card to connect to the internet
but It would be great if i can get my wireless card problem fixed so I can
use wifi in my college. Can anybody help me out of this mess?
