linux-image-2.6.22-14-generic: Boot problems on a64x2 which go away after about 10 attempts/20 minutes

Me again, if anyone's still reading this thread...

Not the hard drive (have tried another).

Not the memory according to Memtest86 v1.70

Conclusion: it must be a mainboard issue or some other hardware fault :-(
