    Here is what I have learned. This is a presentation of fdisk with
the 4 Gb:

karl at karl-desktop:~$ sudo fdisk /dev/sdg1

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/sdg1: 4043 MB, 4043276288 bytes
125 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1018 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 7750 * 512 = 3968000 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

     Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

Command (m for help):

    This looks like any good Linux hard drive with zero partitions! I
can do anything I want with this memory stick.

    My older Kensington 2 Gb has a different problem. Fdisk looks like this:
karl at karl-desktop:~$ sudo fdisk /dev/sdf1

Command (m for help): p

Disk /dev/sdf1: 2063 MB, 2063581184 bytes
64 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1015 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 3968 * 512 = 2031616 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x73696420

This doesn't look like a partition table
Probably you selected the wrong device.

     Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdf1p1   ?      483859      621066   272218546+  20  Unknown
Partition 1 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?):
     phys=(356, 97, 46) logical=(483858, 38, 59)
Partition 1 has different physical/logical endings:
     phys=(357, 116, 40) logical=(621065, 34, 23)
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sdf1p2   ?      335228      471059   269488144   6b  Unknown
Partition 2 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?):
     phys=(288, 110, 57) logical=(335227, 55, 57)
Partition 2 has different physical/logical endings:
     phys=(269, 101, 57) logical=(471058, 37, 52)
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sdf1p3   ?      135835      488245   699181456   53  OnTrack DM6 Aux3
Partition 3 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?):
     phys=(345, 32, 19) logical=(135834, 1, 18)
Partition 3 has different physical/logical endings:
     phys=(324, 77, 19) logical=(488244, 1, 49)
Partition 3 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sdf1p4   *      351469      351475       10668+  49  Unknown
Partition 4 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?):
     phys=(87, 1, 0) logical=(351468, 42, 36)
Partition 4 has different physical/logical endings:
     phys=(335, 78, 2) logical=(351474, 2, 44)
Partition 4 does not end on cylinder boundary.

Partition table entries are not in disk order

Command (m for help): q

    I think if I take the stuff off of this memory stick it will look
better. I will see after breakfast.
