routine check of drivers

When I turn the computer on (a portatible Toshiba-Qoosmio) stop with the
following message: Routine check of drivers:/dev/sdb6 ...press escape to
skip. I press skip and I enter the system BUT the folders of 'system,
applications and Places' are not on the left upside. How can I fix it?.
