why ubuntu 8.04 server dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg doesn't ask for video and/or monitor information

Hi,

does anyone know
why ubuntu 8.04 server dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg doesn't ask for 
video and/or monitor information?
it only  asks for keyboard information.
and
dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg doesn't ask form any information.
