In order to get useful help, you need to expand on your problem a bit.
Which application, how slow is it running compared to running it under
Windows on the same PC, and so on.

Generally, Wine is considered to run generic Windows applications
roughly as fast as Windows itself. This is because Wine Is Not an
Emulator, but just translates the system calls that the Windows
application makes, so that the linux system can understand them. So, we
need a bit more info to figure out what is wrong in your case.
