I need some advice on BIG external storage units

I use a WD My Book 1TB with USB interface for backups and it works well. Sure, 
if/when the drive spins down, subsequent FS access will hang a little as 
platters spin up again but apart from a few seconds wait that hasn't been a 
problem so far.

FTR I'm using JFS and Dirvish ( http://www.dirvish.org/ ) on that drive.
