WUBI Vs EXT Partition Installation

I install Ubuntu 8.04 in windows-NTFS partition.
And twice , I install it in EXT3, on same PC.
As same as you doing.
I also see it looks a bit faster in NTFS then in EXT3.
Maybe it true, not a feeling.
IO maybe is faster in Compressed FS .
English is not my mother language, so my idea can not possibly express clearly.
Ary you clear my meaning?
