_Perhaps_ he can. It's far from universal - I've never had a system that
had controls for this in the BIOS, though I know enough about BIOSes (and
ACPI) to know it could be there.
However, if he's only going to sleep mode (as I'm pretty sure he is) turning
off the ability to wake up by pressing any button, is only going to result
in the system being frequently shutdown by loss of power. Not good for the
data, or the battery.
