Does this 3Ware RAID card work?

I found a kernel module for the 2.4.x kernels (and packages for RedHat
and Suse) at their driver download site:
http://www.3ware.com/support/download.asp

I have no experience with this hardware though and don't know how well
it works or how good the driver is.
