The question a friend asked me was why update at all? If it works keep
using it. I should have taken that advice before I started.

The upgrade from 6.06 LTS to 8.04 did not work last Thursday. So I
expect I will wait for at least 6 months more before I try it again and
let others get the bugs out of the upgrade.

The upside is that the computer seems to run faster since the
re-install.
