Wireless connection gets dropped after 5 secs, but only first time

After I pick my wirelss connection ffrom KNetworkManager the
connection works, I am online browsing, and then it gets dropped!

So I select it again, and it stays working. But why does it get
dropped the first time? It is the same connecting to different
routers.

Failing a fix for this problem, how can I set auto-reconnect? I want
it to re-establish connection if it is lost due to router rebooting
etc
