Download the file from adobe. I think is is
install_flash_player_9_linux.bin, make sure that it is excutable:

$ ls -lh /PATH TO FILE/install_flash_player_9_linux.bin

if it is not executable then type:

$ sudo chmod +x /PATH TO FILE/install_flash_player_9_linux.bin

then shutdown all of your browsers and run:

sudo /PATH TO FILE/install_flash_player_9_linux.bin

You will be asked where your browser is installed, if you're using the
default install you will type in : /usr/lib/firefox

That should complete it. It will ask you if you want to install again. You
can answer no if you like.

To check it is installed with firefox, start a browser and type in the
address bar:

about:plugins

This will give you a list of installed plugins and tell you if they are
enabled.

Hope this helps.

John.

open some site like www.youtube.com,then firefox automatically asks for
installing the missing plugins,jus click on it and install your desired
plugin.

Greetings,

I guess this is a really easy one:

I am running Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy), kernel 2.6.22-14-generic,
Firefox/2.0.0.12

I arc up Firefox web browser, go to look at YouTubes in Facebook;
Click on unistalled plugins, then click on "Next" to install Adobe Flash
Player, I get an error dialog:

Can not find 'flashplugin-nonfree'

It looks like a package is not installed, but none of the commands:

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
sudo apt-get install flashplugin
sudo apt-get install flash

Have the desired effect. Can somebody please help me out

TIA, fcG.
