question

Hi guys,

I am new to ubuntu, I recently switched from xp to ubuntu and now I have no sound, also I forget to install and login as root and installed it as user , I have installed ubuntu 2 times and am unable to install it again, don't know how boot the system as root , when rebooting, the only option is to login as user.
