I've got to say that GEdit is an absolute gem. I can't believe how good 
it is.

I always thought it to be an ultra-simple, lightweight editor. But right 
out of the box it has features that you can enable with a few clicks 
that rocket it right to the top of editors and taking it within reach of 
TextMate.

I wish to express my gratitude to the developers of GEdit, they've got 
their heads screwed on and really know their onions!
