This may be an issue in between VBox and xorg/xrandr in Hardy: I use
virtualbox (non-OSE) Gutsy amd64 host to run WinXP, gOS, Linux Mint,
Debian Experimental and Kubuntu Hardy, all with additions. After
installing additions all the virtual systems can have screen resolutions
above 800x600 *except for Hardy* (additions compile and install
seemingly fine in Hardy).
