Well, not really.  I store all my mail on a local IMAP server, and then I
can use any mail reader anywhere to read it.

At one time I was using Thunderbird on a dual boot system and actually
symlinking mail folders on the Linux system directly to the ones on the
Windows partition.  Perhaps not the best way to do it, but clearly it's
easy to share the data.  In fact, I think you could share with any other
client, too, because the data's in Maildir formats.
