Gimp Apparently Doesn't Install

Steve, I was using a disc which I'd downloaded from Ubuntu.  The 
programs such as Abiword, Gaim, and Gimp are on there for windows, too.  
But the first time I attempted it, it wouldn't work.  I tried installing 
it again, and it did some things that it didn't do the first time...   
and it's installed now and apparently working.
