It sure seems to be. My bug report will probably be flagged as a duplicate.

policykit and consolekit are new things to me - they weren't in debian
to my knowledge.

And this may be related to my attempts to get the usb sticks to mount
(devices aren't getting created). Well, I'm going to reboot pretty
soon.
