usb hard drive

Did something change in hardy the way usb drives, and slave drives are
mounted with hardy?  I get an entry in "places" for both of them, but
when you click on either one the task bar locks up having to ctl alt
bksp to get control again of the desktop.  The computer doesnt lock up,
I can still right click on the desktop and get a terminal, etc., just
cant open either drive for some reason.

2nd question. is the command fstab-sync in hardy non existent?


Fresh install for mythbox....Help.
