Well, if I knew how to use it I might try to debug my
black, blanc, no blinking cursor on tty1-tty6 consoles
as it's an annoying bug.

I have filed bug rep[orts from time to time and it may
come in handy some time if I can figure out how to use
it. Will read the links to see what I can learn.

Ha, Ha, funny; I like. Thanks for your very
understandable explanation of the debug image purpose.
Let the Paul Harveys come with the rest of the story.
Not worried about the extra 58 MB usage. Have a 500
gig HDD containing Vista, Vista Restore and Gutsy and
over 300 GB free space. When I get my courage up, am
going to shrink my gutsy partition and create sever
ubuntu size partitions to install hardy and new
distros.
